Agenda Items:
1.The President Dr. Tong-Yan Zhao called to order and introduced each other at 5pm.
2. Dr. Gunter Muller motioned to accept M. Sallam’s resignation and Min-Hao Zhou’s 2nd, motion passed unanimously.
3. Dr. Abu Ahmad introduced Dr. Abdul Althbyani for middle east region to replace Dr. M. Sallam. Ahmad motioned to nominate Althbyani for the regional director of middle east, Dr. Gunter Muller second. The motion passed unanimously.
4. Dr. Zhao motioned to nominate Dr. Hong-Liang Chu to replace Dr. Min-Hao Zhou for central China regional Director due to Dr. Zhou’s election as Vice President, Min-Hao Zhou second the motion. the motion passed unanimously.
5. Dr. Zhao announced Dr. Min-Hao Zhou has been elected as the Vice President.
6. Dr. Min-Hao Zhou motioned to approve the Board meeting minutes of November 4, Qingdo, China, Dr. Hsu second the motion. The motion passed.
7. Dr. Rui-De Xue and Dr. Tong-Yan Zhao explained the new officer installation procedure before the 4th IFSCMMD. Due to Dr. Dan Kine’s flight delay, Dr. Bill Walton agreed to represent the SOVE officer to install the ASVEMC new officers if Dr. Kline will not arrive in the early morning of May 25. Actually, Dr. Kline presented and installed the new officer in the morning of May 25.
8. Dr. Rui-De Xue reported about the proposal for 7th international congress of the SOVE in Nanjing, China and thanks Dr. Min-Hao Zhou and Dr. Hong-Liang Chu’s help. The SOVE Board will vote the item in their September Board meeting.
9. Dr. Rui-De Xue reported membership (42 currently) and some members have not renewed their membership yet ($35 for Asian member annually) and appreciated Dr. Err-Lieh Hsu brought 5-6 new members from Taiwan.
10. Mr. Brian Liang, Society website master updated the ASVEMC website and try to collect more suggestion and idea to improve the website. Dr. Zhao and Mrs. Min-Yu Wu introduced/showed the society’s seal.
11. Regional and committee report: Dr. Ahmad reported about dengue outbreak in Malaysia last year, Dr. Zhao reported about dengue outbreak in Guangzhou, Dr. Hsu reported about outbreak of dengue in Taiwan.
12. Dr. Rui-De Xue announced next Board meeting in Chongqing, China, November 7 at 5pm, 2016.
13. The 5th IFSCMMD meeting site and date (Nanjing, China, May 21-25, 2017 (tentative) or combined with the 7th International Congress of the SOVE in late September 2017).
14. Dr. Tong-Yan Zhao motioned to add south China Region and nominated Dr. Li-Feng Lin, Deputy Director of Guangzhou CDC as the regional director, Dr. Muller second the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
